Here you will find a summary of what we did in class, as well as any homework or assignments/projects that were given. The most recent class will be found at the top of the page, and previous classes will be found at the bottom.
Homework for June 14-the Musique mercredi songs were due today; please hand yours in ASAP
-we used the piece on <<Le Petit Prince>> on L266-267 as a way to preview the movie; students completed the exercises on L267 while I called students outside to do comments and percentages -if you no longer need your textbook, it was collected; we will continue to collect next week Homework for June 13-a reminder that your Musique mercredi songs are due next day
-we concluded the subjunctive by learning about connector words that force the use of it (as found on L296-297) -we completed and corrected the Essayez! -students completed Ex3 on L296 and showed me their sentences once finished to get their completion mark -a reminder to please ensure that you have handed in all missing work (I'm still waiting to get more novel study booklets before I start marking them) Homework for June 12-for Musique mercredi, we did Kendji Girac

-we did personal questions to help use the new vocabulary -students completed Ex 1 & 2 on L289; we corrected both Homework for June 5-for Musique mercredi, we did Angele
-we looked up information and discussed, then listened to the song and watched the video; we discussed the questions after each -a reminder that next week will be the final Musique mercredi and your three songs are due next Friday June 14th Homework for June 4-a reminder to please hand in your missing work (subjunctive sentences, novel study booklet, novel study paragraph) ASAP
**Friday's class will be used as a catch up day, so you can also use that time to work on assignments and get them handed in then -we completed an exercise on L283 to give further practice with the possessive pronouns Homework for June 3-a reminder to please hand in your subjunctive sentences from last lesson if you have not done so
-we went outside briefly to play a game to identify expressions of doubt, disbelief and uncertainty -we reviewed possessives, then transitioned to possessive pronouns as explained on L282 -we completed and corrected Ex1 Homework for May 31-we did a quick review of what we had previously seen of the subjunctive
-using L280-281, we learned about the use of subjunctive with expressions of doubt, disbelief and uncertainty -note that for expressions of certainty (at the bottom of L280) you won't use the subjunctive tense -we completed and corrected the Essayez! on L281 -the remainder of the time was left for students to create their own sentences using all the expressions of doubt, disbelief and uncertainty; this was collected for marks (but students can hand it in next day if they did not finish) Homework for May 30Field trip to The French Table
Homework for May 28-we did an impromptu Musique mardi, as the class wanted to do it and Mme felt guilty for not having it prepared :)

-I showed pairs of sentences on the board and we discussed the differences between them to introduce the use of the subjunctive with verbs of will and emotion -notes were given on the board for the various verbs of will & emotion (these were taken directly from L258-259, be sure to copy the lists for yourselves if you were away) -for the remainder of the time, students worked on Ex2, L258; we did a brief share at the end of class -if finished, sentences were collected; please have yours ready to hand in next day if they were not handed in Homework for Apr 26-student volunteers shared the statements they created for the impersonal expressions; these were collected afterwards (please hand yours in next week if you did not have it complete)
-we completed Ex4 from L247 in partners, then did a quick share out -we watched the Roman-Photo <<La randonnee>>; I showed the class a website of Sainte-Victoire mountain and we discussed the preview question on the worksheet -we corrected the worksheet afterwards Homework for Apr 25-I listed verbs from Scene 4 and Scene 6 of the Roman-Photo <<Une idee genie>> and students attempted to identify the tenses of the verbs; we did this by way of introducing the use of the subjunctive

-we began with responding to questions about the artists, then completed our Musique mercredi worksheet and discussed some of the questions -as before, you will pick three of the songs to hand in at the end of the semester (there will be seven songs to choose from) Homework for Apr 23-Mme opened class by reading the English fables of "The Hare and the Tortoise" as well as "The Grasshopper and the Ants" from a book of Aesop's Fables; I highlighted some of the differences between the tales that we watched and read in class
-we watched the Roman-Photo <<Une idee de genie>> and completed the worksheet activities while watching; we corrected them afterwards Homework for Apr 22-we opened class by watching a short cartoon based on a fable
-we discussed the tale afterwards as well as the origins of most well known fables (Aesop) -we then transitioned to a short autobiography of Jean de LaFontaine on L230 -students were given time to read <<La Cigale et la Fourmi>> on L230-231 and responded to the questions on L231 -we went over the questions, then concluded by watching another cartoon interpretation of the tale (if interested, you also are welcome to watch this video of the Fox & the Crow) Homework for Apr 19-I gave notes on the board to explain the relative pronouns qui, que, ou (with accent, it won't let me do it here) and dont

-for Musique mercredi, we listened to Marie-Mai; we discussed the questions in class Homework for Feb 6-we concluded the <<Portrait>> presentations; please hand in your sentences ASAP if you have not done so
-using a timeline, we went over the two past tenses as well as the near future, the future and the conditional (you can download the timeline from the "Downloads and Assignment Info" page -we reviewed past tense composed and imperfect tense using the info provided on L10-11 (there are additional pages in the textbook that go more depth if you want to look) -individually, with a partner or in a group of three, students completed L12, Ex10; volunteers as well as random selections were shared -for Thursday, choose an image that you can tell a story about (like with the activity in the livre) and write a short paragraph to describe it, ensuring to use the imparfait and the passe compose Homework for Feb 5-we did the <<Portrait>> presentations; students also had to choose three destinations they would visit and write sentences for each (these will be collected)
