Here you will find a summary of what we did in class, as well as any homework or assignments/projects that were given. The most recent class will be found at the top of the page, and previous classes will be found at the bottom.

Homework for Mar 13-students searched for info on Zaho and we went over it after
-we listened to the song and watched the video; we briefly discussed the questions after each -a reminder that tomorrow and Friday will be work periods for your project Homework for Mar 12-we started the new unit and did the <<Pour commencer>> questions on L197
-we completed Exercice 1 & 2 on L198 to help practice the new vocabulary; we corrected both activities after Homework for Mar 11-students were given worksheets to answer questions on the Panorama about Quebec L190-191
-if not finished in class, please hand it in to Mme ASAP Homework for Mar 8-today was a work period for your project; you will get two more next Thurs/Fri
Homework for Mar 7-we had Musique jeudi (it doesn't sound right!); students looked up information on Julien Dore and we went over it
-we listened to the song and volunteers shared their opinions -a new project was assigned where you will be creating a business plan for a new store; the remainder of the time was left for students to work (you will also get tomorrow and next Thurs and Fri) and the due date has been added to the calendar Homework for Mar 5-students wrote an in-class paragraph on either utopia/dystopia or "In 10 years..." to give more practice using futur simple
-paragraphs were handed in by the end of the period (for those who were away, please time yourself for an hour at home and write on the chosen topic) Homework for Mar 4-I showed the class a PowerPoint on the futur simple (future); a handout of the notes was provided after
-we completed and corrected Ex1 on L184 -in pairs or groups of three, students completed statements predicting what the future will look like in 2040, 2070 and 2100; volunteers shared their predictions after Homework for Mar 1-a reminder to hand in your field trip for The French Table ASAP (ideally, before we leave for Spring break)
-we briefly discussed what people consider to be "downtown Burnaby" -we completed the reading on <<Les villes et les villages>> and completed the questions in Activite 1; we corrected them afterwards -I briefly showed the class a map of Paris to show the different arrondissements and where some of the famous landmarks are located Homework for Feb 29-a reminder to hand in your field trip form for The French Table ASAP (ideally, before we leave for Spring break)
-an activity sheet was given for the latest Roman-Photo, <<Chercher son chemin>>; we discussed the first exercise, then complete and corrected Ex2 -we watched the video and completed the activities; after watching, students also completed Ex7 and we went over all the exercises -I showed the class an image of La Rotonde, a real fountain that one can see in Aix-en-Provence and was mentioned in the Roman-Photo Homework for Feb 28-a reminder to hand in your field trip form for The French Table ASAP (ideally, before we leave for Spring break)

-we corrected the worksheet given the other day -we brainstormed different terms to use to give directions, then in partners, students had to help their partner (who had their eyes closed) navigate around the classroom; we did this several times and the partners that remained in the room rearranged the desks each time we switched who was being led around the room Homework for Feb 26-a reminder to hand in your field trip form for The French Table ASAP (ideally, before we leave for Spring break)
-we started the second half of the unit and went over the new vocabulary on L176-177 -we completed and corrected Ex 2 & 3 -a worksheet was provided to give more practice for the new vocab; we will go over it next day Homework for Feb 23-a reminder to hand in your field trip form for The French Table ASAP (ideally, before we leave for Spring break)

-we went over L172, Ex1 -using the description provided for Ex6 on L173, students worked with a partner or a group of three to create a dialog which will be presented next day (Friday); a standard presentation rubric was provided -about half the class next day will be for you to practice and/or add to your dialog Homework for Feb 21-a field trip form for our trip to the The French Table in May was distributed; the fee can be paid through School Cash Online or to Ms Cochrane in the office; please return the signed form ASAP!
-students searched for info on Samian and we went over it -we listened to the song and watched the video; we discussed the questions briefly as well Homework for Feb 20-students completed Ex6 on L171; I selected students at random to respond to some of the questions and I also had volunteers respond
-we looked over the different negative expressions as explained on L172-173; we completed and corrected the Essayez! activity on L173 -for the remainder of the time, students worked on Ex1 on L172; please ensure it is complete for Thursday, as we will go over it then Homework for Feb 15-I introduced the irregular verbs voir (to see), croire (to believe), and recevoir (to receive) by asking questions for each; volunteers gave their responses
-we looked over the three verbs as well as apercevoir (to notice, to catch sight of) on L170-171 -we completed and corrected Ex 1 & 2 Homework for Feb 14-for Musique mercredi, we listened to Amir; we discussed the questions in class
Homework for Feb 13-we corrected the Roman-Photo exercises; see me for the corrections if you need them
-students read <<Les moyens de paiements en France>> on L168, then answered the questions following the reading; we went over the responses afterwards Homework for Feb 12-we corrected the remainder of the worksheet given on Friday; see me for the corrections if you were away
-in partners or individually, students created a description based on L164, Ex4; the pieces were collected afterwards for completion marks -we watched the Roman-Photo <<On fait des courses>> and completed worksheet exercises while watching; we will correct the activities next day Homework for Feb 9-your Portrait marks as well as your three places sentences and photo descriptions were returned
-we started the new unit and completed the <<Pour Commencer>> questions on L161 -we went over the new vocabulary on L162-163 -a worksheet was distributed for students to complete; we corrected the first exercise only (the rest will be corrected next class) Homework for Feb 8-time was given for students who wanted corrections for their paragraph or needed to add to the paragraph
-we went outside to the field and did inside-outside circles to share our pictures and stories -paragraphs were collected back in the classroom Homework for Feb 7-I read a sample paragraph to the class as well as showed the accompanying picture to help you get ideas for your own paragraph and photo description for tomorrow (hopefully the weather cooperates and we can go outside to the field to an inside-outside circle share)
-for Musique mercredi, we listened to Marie-Mai; we discussed the questions in class Homework for Feb 6-we concluded the <<Portrait>> presentations; please hand in your sentences ASAP if you have not done so
-using a timeline, we went over the two past tenses as well as the near future, the future and the conditional (you can download the timeline from the "Downloads and Assignment Info" page -we reviewed past tense composed and imperfect tense using the info provided on L10-11 (there are additional pages in the textbook that go more depth if you want to look) -individually, with a partner or in a group of three, students completed L12, Ex10; volunteers as well as random selections were shared -for Thursday, choose an image that you can tell a story about (like with the activity in the livre) and write a short paragraph to describe it, ensuring to use the imparfait and the passe compose Homework for Feb 5-we did the <<Portrait>> presentations; students also had to choose three destinations they would visit and write sentences for each (these will be collected)
-we will wrap presentations next day Homework for Feb 2-today was a work period for your Portrait presentation
-a reminder to send your computer files/links (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, etc) to Mme if you would like them to be projected during your presentation on Monday Homework for Feb 1-we read the Portrait on L9, then discussed it briefly
-the criteria for your first project was distributed and we went over it; students signed up for the place that they wanted to feature for their Portrait -the remainder of the time was left for students to get started; presentations will take place Monday and you will have another work period tomorrow (Friday) Homework for Jan 31-today was our first Musique mercredi; each Wednesday, we will listen to a Francophone song as well as watch the music video that goes with it; students have a question sheet that they will fill out each week (or you can leave the sheet blank and write notes each week for your responses)
-at the midpoint as well as the end of the semester, you will choose three songs that you will hand in your question responses for; students are welcome to get corrections each week or you can wait until closer to when the three songs will be collected -the videos will be posted in the opposite column with the most recent video at the top of the page Homework for Jan 30-we reviewed regular and irregular verbs as well as the regular endings for our three verb groups (-ER, -RE, -IR); I also referred to the pages in the livre that students can use to look up verb conjugations
-we completed L6, Ex7; volunteers shared their sentences for each picture -in partners or in a group of three, students completed the survey on L7, Ex12; either individually or as a group, students created a new six question survey and all was handed in for completion marks Homework for Jan 29-the textbooks were distributed
-using the image on L1, I asked the class questions in French -individually, students responded to the same questions about themselves; I randomly selected students to share what they had written |
