Homework for Jan 16-the final project was due today; please submit yours ASAP if you did not have it complete
-self evaluation forms were distributed to students to fill out; I called students up one at a time and we discussed your final mark -a reminder to bring food to share for our breakfast tomorrow, come hungry! -we learned about reciprocal reflexives, as explained on L136 -though Mme understands the need to talk about reciprocity with reflexives, most verbs can be made reciprocal by using me, te, se, nous ou vous with any verb (in other words, there is no need to called a certain group of reflexive verbs reciprocal) -we completed Ex4, L137 and students shared their sentences -students worked on Ex6, L137 (On se quitte) for the remainder of the period; it will be collected next day Homework for Dec 6-we watched a short news piece in tribute of Karl Tremblay, the former lead singer for Les Cowboys Fringants (our first Musique mercredi was a song by this group)

-I explained that she eventually became an author well known for the children's series "Ernest et Celestine"; she wrote under the nom de plume Gabrielle Vincent (her grandparents names) -I read the story "Ernest et Celestine ont perdu Simeon" (English version) to the class, and also showed images from a couple of her other stories -we will be watching the movie "Ernest et Celestine" next day, and I distributed a worksheet to complete for the movie (which will be handed in); you will also be writing a paragraph on Monday, so it is recommended that you take notes while watching the movie, as you will need to provide examples from the movie for your paragraph -the remaining time was left for students to continue working on their presentation Homework for Nov 20-a reminder to hand in your Suisse Panorama and/or the letter assignment (L101, Ex6) if you have not done so

-students had to choose between either Ex4 or 5 on L27 and respond to the questions; I selected students at random to provide their responses -please complete Ex3, L28 (Rien d'extraordinaire) on a separate sheet of paper to be collected on Thursday; you should find 12 verbs to change from present to past Homework for Sept 25-I referred the class to L26-27, which gives some of the same information that we had gone over with our review of passe compose and imparfait
-I put a verb timeline on the board to give a visual way to think about our different verb tenses (particularly for passe compose and imparfait) -to help with listening and comprehension, we will be reading chapters from <<Valentine Picotee>>; students are to identify verbs using passe compose or imparfait -as a bonus assignment, students can draw an image or several images to represent what happens in the chapter (they will be collected all together once we finish the book) -a handout was given for homework to practice passe compose & imparfait in writing (Act 3 is optional) Homework for Sept 21-we watched the Flash culture video a couple more times, then corrected the Flash culture worksheet

-we completed and corrected Ex 1 on L10 -the remainder of the time was for students to do a in-class writing activity; the topic is <<Une mauvaise journee>> (A bad day) and you had to ensure to use a variety of verbs in past tense -the paragraphs will be handed in Monday Homework for Sept 7-the textbooks were issued and we filled out the textbook cards; I advised putting Post-it flags for the reference pages at the back of your textbook

-the last day to hand in your sentences for Musique mercredi is Monday (as indicated on the calendar) -the criteria was given for your last paragraph; students had the remainder of the period to write it and hand it in -the next four classes will be work periods for your final project Homework for Jan 10-we learned abou the verbs ouvrir, offrir, couvrir, decouvrir & souffrir through L148-149
-I showed the class a PowerPoint on the conditional tense and the notes were provided after -I provided the topics for the in-class paragraph next day; students were encouraged to start planning their paragraphs Homework for Jan 9-we went over the criteria for the final project; remember, you must choose one option (presentation or individual written piece), but you are welcome to do both
-the <<Drole de voiture>> descriptions were collected, and I randomly selected from the description to read to the class to draw -the drawings were collected afterwards Homework for Jan 6-the exercises from the previous day were collected; please hand yours in ASAP if you have not done so
